Get ready for a new experience at SHIM Center in Bethel Park! If you’ve been here to drop off donations or volunteer at a family event, you’ll notice that things look a little different. Our renovations are designed to serve our clients better, raise the dignity of those seeking help, and elevate SHIM as a visible beacon of hope for people struggling in the South Hills.
Our new entrance is conveniently located next to our parking lot on South Park Road, now featuring two designated handicap parking spaces and a level entry for easy access. If you need to meet with someone on the upstairs level, you can ride the new elevator, ensuring everyone can navigate our facility comfortably.
For clients needing private meeting spaces, we now have enclosed rooms perfectly suited for confidential conversations. These are located across the way from two unisex handicap-accessible bathrooms and a renovated staff/volunteer kitchen.
You’ll also notice a fresher look in the original section of our building where we’ve painted the walls and replaced the carpet. Goodbye 1980s decor, hello bright modern office!
Our improvements are not just about functionality—they are about creating a space where everyone feels respected, supported, and uplifted.
All these improvements were made possible by PA’s Gaming Economic Development Tourism Fund, Christ Church, Jefferson Regional Foundation, Eden Hall Foundation, Herrmann Associates, Inc. and generous individuals.
Thank you to MCF Architects and Volpatt Construction for helping us to realize our dream of an inclusive welcoming space to serve our South Hills neighbors.
