As SHIM expands to serve a growing number of foreign-born families, our most critical need is more food. Specifically, an ongoing source of dried beans and other legumes that many are a staple at every meal.

With the support of the Snee-Reinhardt Charitable Foundation, SHIM is now able to purchase more than a thousand pounds of dried beans, lentils, quinoa, bulgur and barley throughout the year, along with the necessary packing supplies. We’re calling on caring South Hills families to volunteer to pack the product and prepare it for distribution in the food pantries. Join us to learn more about SHIM and volunteer together.

School-aged children are welcome.

Families with children between 5 and 7, we recommend having at least one parent per child.
