In August, SHIM hosted three Back to School distribution events and provided backpacks and school supplies to 1,550 South Hills K-12 students. We have never experienced such high numbers. Thanks to the support of generous donors in the community like you and CentiMark Corp, we were able to serve every student! As South Hills families struggle to keep up with inflation, spending on necessities such as food, utilities, and fuel is consuming a larger portion of household budgets. While higher income households can cut back on discretionary spending, lower income households are running out of funds to pay for necessities.
SHIM is proud to provide an array of programs to help neighbors address various needs. Whether they are having trouble getting enough food to feed their families each month, or fighting against utility shut offs, SHIM is here to help.
