Building Family & Community

Interfaith Programs

Holocaust Observance

Since 1979, members of the South Hills faith community have united each spring to remember the victims of the Holocaust. Led by a team of interfaith leaders, the Holocaust Observance offers community members an opportunity to pray, reflect, discuss and remember. SHIM coordinates this program to educate and unite our rich South Hills faith community.

Interfaith Thanksgiving Service

Held each November, our Interfaith Thanksgiving Service is a unique event that brings four faiths together to celebrate in gratitude and unity.

SHIM Community Gardens

Rooted in our desire to provide the families who use SHIM’s food pantries with fresh fruits and vegetables, SHIM’s 15 gardens grow produce for distribution through our pantries. Last year, our gardens provided more than 12,000 pounds of fresh produce thanks to our volunteers and partners.
